Holidays are often a time for
travel. Here’s a timely tip: “Plan ahead and bring your
meds!” Be sure to check your prescription vials for an adequate supply to
last through your vacation. Your pharmacy may have to call your insurance
company to authorize an early refill if you are due to run out of medication
while you are out of town.
Call ahead to your pharmacy as this required
authorization can cause a delay in getting your prescription filled. Keep
your prescriptions in original containers while traveling.
The
information on the vials could be useful in case of emergency-or in the off
chance you are pulled over for speeding… (You don’t want unmarked tablets in
your car if you are pulled over…!) If you will be traveling by
plane-always bring your medications with you on a carry-on. Never pack required
medications in your luggage due to the risk of being lost.
A little planning can go a long
way toward ensuring your vacation is the pleasant and relaxing time you
deserve! Happy Holidays to you! And have a great time!
